Supporting Social Innovation in York Region Funding Opportunities

Who may apply?  

Applications for project development grants will be considered by York University faculty demonstrating partnerships with community  organizations, including government, NGOs, labour, private sector, and  community-based agencies in York Region. The grants are designed to  encourage the opportunity to inform practical public policy and social programming design in a discipline related to the faculty member's  field of research.

What areas of research are being funded?

There is one grant to be awarded in each of the following areas:

1.  Child and Youth Mental Health Research

2.  Immigration and Human Services (including education and training)

Each incentive grant is for $30,000 and will support the development of collaborative research, support knowledge mobilization of existing research or develop KM and research  proposals for external funding.

What support is available?

There is $30,000 available for each area under this call and adjudicators can fund only one project in each area within this call. All research and KM projects funded by this competition must be completed by September 30, 2009.

Who is funding this program?  

Funding has been made possible through a Tri-Council Intellectual Property Mobilization grant.
