AcademyHealth seeks to improve health and health care by linking health services research with practice and policymaking through research translation, educational events, and facilitation of knowledge networks. 

Services:

• Serves as the professional home for health services researchers, policymakers and practitioners, offering a variety of networking and professional development opportunities for members

• Hosts conferences that bring together researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to examine health issues

• Offers online access to various AcademyHealth publications, ranging from newsletters to issue briefs to monographs and special reports

• Publishes two health-related subscriber journals

• Offers an online toolkit including links to a resource database, a training directory, and ethical guidelines for health researchers and policymakers

AHRQ supports health services research and research dissemination that will improve the quality of health care and promote evidence-based decision-making. 

Services:

The theme of the 2008 Colloquium is Speaking Truth to Power: Evidence for Decisions in Education, Social Welfare, and Criminal Justice. The Coordinating Committee is striving for a Colloquium that:

• engages participants intellectually throughout the colloquium;
• creates excitement about the usefulness of systematic reviews of evidence for decision-making purposes;
• fosters an appreciation of the respective perspectives of decision-makers and investigators;
• is a forum for the exchange of knowledge about evidence for education, social welfare and criminal justice; and
• is perceived as having provided participants with significant values for their investment of time and other resources.

CCKM, a cost-recovery, not-for-profit independent corporation, makes existing research findings in social and health sciences accessible and usable for policy makers, practitioners, and the public. CCKM knowledge products are initiated by the needs of users and shaped by innovative impact strategies.

• Offers a public repository of research studies and reviews of research. The repository contains plain language summaries and databases of research tools and resources

• Offers online and on-site workshops in knowledge mobilization and systematic reviewing for students, faculty, policy-analysts and practitioners

• Offers consultative services for the development of knowledge transfer strategic planning and products

CCGHR links knowledge creators and knowledge users in the global health sector by promoting health research that can directly impact health in low- and middle- income countries (LMICs) and working with policy-makers and practitioners to put this knowledge into action. CCGHR aims specifically to foster global health alliances through building partnerships between Canadian and LMIC research communities

CCNC is the Canadian centre and associate network of the Cochrane Collaboration, a not-for-profit organization that produces and disseminates systematic reviews of healthcare interventions. CCNC promotes evidence-based health care in Canada by identifying and supporting individuals in Canada who wish to become involved with The Cochrane Collaboration, and by promoting the awareness, appreciation, distribution and use of Cochrane systematic reviews of healthcare interventions

• Offers online access to Cochrane systematic reviews and summaries

• Hosts workshops on producing and using systematic reviews and holds symposia on the work of the Cochrane Collaboration

• Provides online training resources for researchers and authors of systematic reviews

• Supports a consumer network (CCNet) to foster consumer participation in Cochrane activities

CCL aims to facilitate research, monitoring and reporting, and knowledge exchange on effective approaches to learning. CCL operates five knowledge centres across Canada that focus on five critical learning themes: Aboriginal Learning, Adult Learning, Early Childhood Learning, Health and Learning, and Work and Learning.

CHSRF's mandate is to support evidence-informed decision-making in the organization, management and delivery of health services through funding research, building capacity and transferring knowledge. CHSRF has four primary research themes: managing for quality and safety; management of the healthcare workplace; primary healthcare; and nursing leadership, organization and policy.

CIHI produces data and reports on health care services, health spending, health human resources, and population health and provides analyses to government bodies, hospitals, health authorities and professional associations to promote evidence-based decision making.

CLLRNet’s objective is to facilitate research on children's language and literacy development and to bring this knowledge to schools, child care facilities, practitioners and the community through improved programs, policies and practices. The Canadian Language and Literacy Research Network is proud to be a federal Network of Centres of Excellence.

• Offers funding, training and educational opportunities for students studying children’s language and literacy development at the undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate level

CanKnow is a research branch of the Centre for the Study of Learning and Performance/Centre d’Etudes sur l’Apprentissage et la Performance (CSLP/CEAP), based out of Concordia University. CanKnow conducts systematic research reviews on topics in the social sciences to provide accessible information to decision-makers, practitioners, and the public.

CPRN is a non-profit organization that aims to facilitate dialogue and debate on Canadian social and economic policy issues through evidence-based research.

CRNCC is a virtual network of researchers and other key stakeholders including community service providers, consumers, and policy makers that aims to mobilize and exchange knowledge in home and community care. CBRnet.org is dedicated to connecting community-based researchers and providing resources on community-based research (CBR).

Based at the University of York, CRD aims to provide research-based information about the effects of interventions used in health and social care.

CUP is committed to improving the development of children, youth, families and communities by creating opportunities for research collaboration, networking, lifelong learning, and knowledge sharing among researchers, practitioners, and policymakers.
