The Knowledge Exchange is a forum for information sharing about issues related to Knowledge Transfer such as new initiatives, techniques, and people working in the field.

At the Institute for Work and Health (IWH), the KTE department aims to create ongoing exchange between researchers and stakeholders, so that research informs practice, and vice versa. This exchange occurs by involving stakeholders in research, and through networks of "educationally influential" clinicians. IWH also communicates its research through KTE publications, media relations, workshops and events. 

Services:

• Offers online access to systematic reviews on topics related to prevention of work injury and disease

• Provides a bibliography of IWH publications

• Offers online access to toolkits for health-care professionals and consumers on various work and health issues, as well as a workbook on knowledge transfer

• Offers online access to newsletters reporting on IWH research and KTE activities

• Provides a listing of events related to work and health

• Offers training workshops on conducting systematic reviews

KTP is a research program that networks several departments at University of Toronto with the common goal of developing knowledge translation methods that can most effectively bring health services research into practice. 

Services:

• Hosts events to promote information sharing on issues related to knowledge translation in the health services field (research rounds, work-in-progress sessions, conferences)

• Provides list of funding sources for research in health knowledge translation

• Offers training through courses

• Offers online access to a kit of commonly used strategies and tools in knowledge translation

Based out of University of Alberta, KUSP is a health and social sciences research program focusing on the utilization of research in nursing practice to improve client care. 

Services:

• Offers free access to online summaries of ongoing, completed, and affiliated research projects

• Offers opportunities for graduate students, post-doctoral fellows and other academics to work with KUSP on knowledge utilization research

• Offers training through coursework at University of Alberta

• Offers a statistical consulting service for statistical analyses or to assist researchers in their analyses

• Offers an online resource guide on knowledge utilization issues, as well as bibliographies, databases, and “Top 10” resource lists about evidence-based health services research

Knowledgemobilization.net is an online resource that explores how knowledge relates to practice through working on collaborative projects with individuals and groups involved in knowledge exchange.

• Maintains a project blog with information about existing and emerging projects

• Offers a client consultation service

• Hosts a podcast series (free access to podcasts online) on knowledge exchange issues

• Provides a listing of events related to knowledge exchange

• Provides a listing of knowledge mobilization resources including toolkits on community-university exchange and knowledge exchange

NAHO is an Aboriginal-designed and -controlled body that aims to improve Aboriginal health through research, knowledge-sharing and health promotion activities. 

Services:

• Offers online access to a variety of publications on Aboriginal Health issues (categorized by subject area)

• Hosts conferences and offers an online catalogue of events related to Aboriginal Health

• Publishes the Journal of Aboriginal Health (free online access with subscription)

• Sponsors Aboriginal youth through a peer-nominated role model program

• Operates three centres (the First Nations Centre, the Ajunnginiq (Inuit) Centre and the Métis Centre) which offer services such as online access to publications, toolkits, and funding opportunities, and other population-specific research

• Advises and informs governmental committees and non-governmental organizations on issues related to Aboriginal health

• Engages in health promotion and health awareness activities and campaigns

The NCDDR aims to improve access to disability and rehabilitation research sponsored by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR) through dissimenation to knowledge users and support for systematic reviews in the field.

• Offers online access to briefs on topics in knowledge translation (FOCUS)

• Provides links to resources on standardized research reporting

• Offers online access to a registry of systematic research reviews on disability and rehabiliation topics

• NCDDR has several projects in development (as of July 2007) for dissemination of disability research, including a library of knowledge translation tools and research, a registry of NIDRR sponsered research, webcasting, systematic review training, and development of consumer materials

NICE is an independent organisation responsible for providing national guidance on promoting good health and preventing and treating ill health.

• Offers seminars and short courses for individuals involved in cross-sector partnering
• Conducts participative research with partners on partnering issues
• Offers online access to a resource bank containing the resources on cross-sector partnering, practice-based learning case studies, partnering tools, and signposts
• Offers online access to various publications on partnering issues
• Maintains an online international network of partnership practitioners

PRI is a government policy research group whose mandate is to conduct and compile research applicable to social policy, and to ensure the transfer of this knowledge to decision-makers. 

Services:

• Offers online access to publications (reports, briefing notes, and others) associated with each research project, as well as online abstracts of working papers within each area

• Provides a listing of events (such as workshops, conferences, and policy research roundtables) for each research area

• Hosts symposiums and workshops in the areas of labour market, population change and the life-course through the Population, Work and Family Policy Research Collaboration (PWFC)

Based out of McMaster University, PPD conducts research on factors that influence the translation of healthcare research into healthcare management and policymaking. PPD has an ongoing project to update a systematic review of research on evidence-based policymaking.

• Provides online summaries for research funders, organizations, knowledge brokers, and policy-makers on the conclusions and implications of past PPD research

• Offers an online listing of PPD projects, presentations, and publications related to knowledge translation (some listings link to abstracts and/or journal sources)
